Contact Form

Key facts

  • SPI is reached by one enquiry form and one email address, sales@strategicpackaginginsights.com, which the site lists for tracker questions, data corrections and advisory enquiries (SPI Contact page, 13 October 2026).
  • Each message goes to the SPI team member closest to the topic, who replies by email with a first view or a few clarifying questions (SPI Contact page, 13 October 2026).
  • For consulting work, scope, deliverables and fee are agreed in writing before work starts; prices are given on request (SPI Contact page and SPI Consulting service definitions, 13 October 2026).
  • The free SPI data you can ask about covers 79 rules in 25 jurisdictions, 42 brand owners and retailers with 179 targets, and 216 fee and tax rates from 14 markets (SPI Trackers, 13 October 2026).
  • Strategic Packaging Insights (SPI) is a trading name of SRI Consulting Group Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company no. 16581261), Suite 10 Capital House, 61 Amhurst Road, London E8 1LL (SPI Privacy Policy, 13 October 2026).
  • SPI does not give legal advice, test or certify packaging, give audit opinions or file with regulators on anyone’s behalf (SPI Consulting service definitions, 13 October 2026).

Which enquiry goes where

Most messages to SPI fall into one of seven groups. All of them use the same form and the same email address; what changes is what you should put in the message and what happens after it arrives. Links across the site that say “Request a briefing”, “Ask for an EPR cost review”, “Ask for a buyer briefing” or “Ask about a licence” open this page with the topic already set, so the team sees where you came from.

SPI analysis

The topic tag matters less than the first paragraph of your message. A message that names a rule ID, a company or a market lets the team start from the right row; a message that says only “please call me” needs a clarifying email before anyone can help.

Tracker questions

The SPI Regulation Tracker holds 79 packaging rules across 25 jurisdictions: 60 in force, 13 adopted, 4 proposed and 2 expired as of 13 October 2026. Every rule has an ID such as PR-GB-004 (deposit return for drinks containers in England and Northern Ireland from 1 October 2027, under SI 2025/67). Quoting the ID is the fastest way to point the team to the row you mean. If you think a rule is missing, send the link to the official text or the regulator’s page; the tracker adds rules only from official sources such as legislation, official journals, regulators and the bodies that run compliance schemes.

Data corrections

If a date, rate, status or quote looks wrong, tell us. Name the page or row, say what is wrong and, if you can, link the source that shows the correct information. A member of the SPI team checks the report against the original source; if the row is wrong or out of date it is corrected, the change is recorded in the row’s history with its date, and the corrected row goes through the same second-person check as a new row before it is marked verified again. The Corrections page sets out the full policy, with worked examples from the 13 October 2026 check.

Buyer questions

The SPI Buyers Database records the public packaging targets of 42 brand owners and retailers, 179 targets in all, each with the company’s own reported status and its source document. Ask us about a target, a source or a status. Two limits apply to every answer: statuses are company-reported and SPI does not audit them, and the database holds no contacts, purchase volumes, suppliers or packaging specifications. SPI does not invent these, so a request for buyer contact lists cannot be met.

EPR fee and plastic tax questions

The SPI EPR & Plastic Tax Calculator applies 216 published rate rows from 14 markets to the tonnages you enter, and SPI does not keep the figures you type in. If you need a market it does not hold, say so: Germany and Ontario are not included because neither publishes a public fee table, and the UK PackUK Year 2 (2026-27) fees in the calculator are illustrative, for example £415, £455 and £545 per tonne of plastic for green, amber and red recyclability ratings (GOV.UK, consulted 13 October 2026). For a portfolio across several schemes, the Packaging Regulatory Intelligence service maps your materials to each scheme’s categories and deadlines.

Data licence requests

You may read the trackers, use the calculator, download the CSV files and quote individual rows in your own work, provided you cite Strategic Packaging Insights, the name of the tracker and the date you accessed it. A written licence is needed to republish a tracker or database in bulk, to resell or redistribute the data, to load it into a product or service offered to others, or to access it automatically at scale. For a licence, tell us the dataset, the use you have in mind and the number of users; terms and fees are agreed in writing and given on request. See Data Licensing.

Consulting briefs

SPI Consulting runs eight services on the same sourced data as the SPI Trackers, from Packaging Regulatory Intelligence to Packaging Investment & Transaction Intelligence and Custom Packaging Research. A useful first message states the decision to support, the geographies, the materials and formats, and the time horizon, because those four items are what the written scoping brief records.

What to include in your message

The enquiry form asks for your first name, last name, email address, a subject and your message, according to the SPI Privacy Policy. The table below lists what makes each kind of message answerable on first reading.

Please do not send confidential commercial data in a first message. If a project needs your tonnages, specifications or supplier details, the team will ask for them once the scope is agreed, and the written proposal says how they will be used.

What happens next

The SPI Contact page describes three steps, and they are the same for every topic.

SPI aims to reply within two business days. Corrections are answered when the check against the source is complete: SPI tells you what was changed, or why it was not.

For consulting work, the written proposal names one of four formats from the SPI Consulting service definitions: a Briefing (one question answered from existing SPI data, as a call and a short memo), a Sprint (two to four weeks on one market or topic; most work starts here), a Programme (six to twelve weeks across several markets or workstreams, delivered in phases) or a Retainer (ongoing monitoring with regular change notes and read-outs). Every assignment then follows the same six steps: scope, source plan, evidence, analysis, a check by a second SPI team member, and delivery.

SPI analysis

Most questions that arrive as consulting enquiries can be answered first as a briefing from the free data. Starting there costs you less time, and it shows quickly whether a sprint is needed at all.

What SPI can and cannot help with

SPI provides decision support from public sources. It does not give legal advice or legal representation, carry out certified or laboratory testing, issue certifications or audit opinions, or file with regulators on your behalf. Recyclability reviews are desk reviews. Where a question needs one of these, the reply says so and, where possible, points you to the kind of provider you need. The Disclaimer and Terms and Conditions set out the same limits.

Naming a company, product or scheme in an SPI page does not imply any relationship with it. If you write on behalf of a company named in the SPI Buyers Database, SPI changes a sourced fact only when a source supports the change, for example a newer company report.

Before you write: what the free data already answers

Many questions are answered on the site without an enquiry. The SPI Regulation Tracker can be filtered by jurisdiction, type, status and material and exported as CSV, and each rule has its own page with an SPI note. Weekly change alerts by email are available on the tracker page; nothing is sent until you confirm the sign-up link, and every alert carries a one-click unsubscribe.

If your market is near the bottom of this chart, coverage there is thinner, and a message telling us which rule you expected to find helps the team decide what to add next.

Where contacting SPI fits in a packaging decision

SPI’s products follow the order in which packaging decisions are made: Discover (who buys what, from the SPI Buyers Database), Understand (which rules apply, from the SPI Regulation Tracker), Evaluate (what it will cost, from the SPI EPR & Plastic Tax Calculator), Decide (which option, market or asset, usually with a briefing) and Implement (a sprint, programme or retainer). An enquiry can come in at any stage. The earlier stages are free; contact is most useful when the free data has narrowed the question and the decision still needs analysis, a portfolio view or monitoring.

About the SPI team

The Our team page describes how the SPI team divides its coverage and how a row is checked by a second team member before it is marked verified. About SPI gives the company details, and the SPI Methodology explains how sources are chosen, checked, labelled and corrected.

What happens to the details you send

According to the SPI Privacy Policy, an enquiry passes to SPI what you type (such as your first name, last name, email address, subject and message), the page you sent it from, the referring page, your IP address and the country it suggests. SPI uses this to answer you and, if you ask, to scope and deliver work. Enquiries are kept as long as needed to answer them and for any work that follows, and are deleted on request unless the law requires otherwise. SPI does not sell personal data. You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask SPI to correct, delete or stop using it, by writing to sales@strategicpackaginginsights.com, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with the answer.

Frequently asked questions

How do I contact Strategic Packaging Insights?

Use the enquiry form on the Contact page or write to sales@strategicpackaginginsights.com. The SPI team answers by email. Phone numbers in the United States (+1 251 314 5024) and the United Kingdom (+44 7877 403352) and the London office address are also listed.

How quickly will SPI reply?

SPI aims to reply within two business days. Your message goes to the SPI team member closest to the topic, who replies by email with a first view or a few clarifying questions. Including the rule ID, company or market in your first message makes that reply more specific.

How do I report an error in SPI data?

Write to sales@strategicpackaginginsights.com or use the enquiry form, naming the page or row, what is wrong and, if you can, a link to the source with the correct information. SPI checks the report against the original source, corrects the row if needed, logs the change with its date and tells you what was changed or why not.

Can SPI give me contact details for packaging buyers?

No. The SPI Buyers Database records 179 public packaging targets from 42 brand owners and retailers, with their sources, but holds no contacts, purchase volumes, suppliers or specifications. SPI does not invent these.

How much does SPI Consulting cost?

Prices are given on request. After a scoping call SPI agrees the scope, deliverables and fee in writing, in one of four formats: a briefing, a sprint of two to four weeks, a programme of six to twelve weeks, or a retainer.

Do I need a licence to use SPI data?

Not for reading, using the calculator, downloading the CSV files or quoting individual rows with a citation to Strategic Packaging Insights, the tracker name and the date. A written licence is needed for bulk republication, resale or redistribution, use inside a product offered to others, or automated access at scale.

Can SPI tell me whether my packaging complies with the law?

SPI can map published rules to your materials, markets and deadlines, but it does not give legal advice, test or certify packaging, or file with regulators. Obligations should be confirmed with qualified counsel and the relevant compliance scheme.

Can I ask SPI to add a rule or a market?

Yes. Send the link to the official source for the rule, or name the fee scheme you need. The SPI Regulation Tracker adds rules only from official sources, and the calculator adds a market only where a public fee table exists, which is why Germany and Ontario are not included today.

Questions people bring
  1. Q1

Which packaging rules apply to us in each market we sell in?

We map each market's EPR, tax, ban, recycled-content, labelling and deposit rules against your materials and formats, and show which are in force, adopted or only proposed.

  2. Q2

What could EPR fees and plastic taxes cost us next year?

We apply published fee tables and tax rates to your tonnages and recycled content, and show the result as scenarios with every rate sourced.

  3. Q3

Can you tell us when a rule changes?

Yes. The free tracker alerts cover rule changes by country; a monitoring retainer adds monthly notes on what the changes mean for your portfolio.
